An early career fire safety professional, Sonny currently works as a Building Safety Officer for a Housing Association.  Previously, he has worked for a private boarding school, assisting with facility management across a diverse 1200-acre campus, including state-of-the-art new blocks to historic listed buildings. He was the lead author of the FIA guidance document - Fire Alarm Considerations for People with Sensory Sensitivities.  

Utilising a research grant from the IFSM, Sonny then conducted case studies in several special needs schools to produce a report on the appropriateness of fire alarm provisions for those with sensory sensitivities.
