John brings over 30 years of experience in the fire sector and serves as NSI’s "Fire Lead," overseeing certification schemes and contributing to BSI standards on FSH12 and FSH12/1 and is currently a member of BSI committee CPB/1/-/2 which is developing BS 8674 -  the competence standard for fire risk assessors . He was involved in the development of BS 8629, revising PAS 79 and BS 5839-1and supports multiple BAFE scheme development groups.

A Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), Fellow of the IFSM, and Member of the IIRSM, John is also a registered IRCA Principal Auditor and a Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute.
