Andy Reakes have played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the JIB and the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) through comprehensive strategic planning.

He drives industry growth and innovation through strategic initiatives and partnerships, focusing on technology developments and occupational standards. He regularly works on individual competence requirements in ECS and for Building Safety through groups such as Working Group 2: Installers and EAS Management Committee for QS status. Andy is Chair of the group that launched the CSCS Smart Check system, the platform covering 2m+ workers in the UK, and collaborates with government, contractors, and providers to develop occupational frameworks. He also serves on various industry groups City of London Sustainable Skyline taskforce, JIB Skills Development Fund, and is a Trustee of the Electrical Industries Charity.
