NSI Becomes an Official Event Partner of The Fire Safety Event 2024

National Security Inspectorate Stand: 4/J108

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI), the leading and most respected certification body for fire and security providers in the UK, is excited to announce its appointment as an official Event Partner of The Fire Safety Event taking place at the NEC on 30th April to 2nd May.

As fire safety continues to climb higher on the priority list for companies in every sector, there is an increasing demand for fire safety providers to showcase and substantiate their competence. NSI plays a pivotal role by ensuring companies adhere to stringent standards, best practices, and competency criteria, thereby safeguarding lives and assets. As a result, NSI has been witnessing a significant growth in enquiries related to third-party certification in  fire safety.

Visitors are warmly welcomed to join NSI at The Fire Safety Event, where we will host a dedicated stand (5/C127), providing an ideal opportunity for one-on-one discussions with our experts on the benefits of third-party certification, such as enhanced performance, increased customer satisfaction, and improved contract acquisition. The NSI team will be readily available to offer guidance tailored to individual business needs.

NSI's commitment to fire safety excellence is further underscored as a UKAS-accredited certification body licensed by BAFE, enabling third party assessment and certification of BAFE's fire competency schemes. Since 2002, NSI has been at the forefront of fire safety certification, becoming the first certification body to be licensed by BAFE for fire detection and fire alarm systems. Today, NSI is licensed for the majority of BAFE’s fire safety schemes, awarding third party certification for Fire Risk Assessment (BAFE SP205), Fire Extinguisher Maintenance/Servicing (BAFE SP101), Emergency Lighting Systems (BAFE SP203-4), Fixed Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Systems (BAFE SP203-3), Kitchen Fire Protection Systems (BAFE SP206), and Evacuation Alert Systems (BAFE SP207), in addition to Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems (BAFE SP203-1).

Organisations seeking inclusion on BAFE’s register must be certified by an accredited certification body like NSI and undergo annual audits to maintain their certification. NSI-certified and BAFE-registered organisations demonstrate a commitment to competency and undergo rigorous audits to evidence their ongoing competence for specific fire and wider life safety works.

Organisations choosing NSI as their Certification Body for one or more of the BAFE competency schemes will benefit from the coveted NSI Gold or Silver certification in addition to BAFE registration, once certification has been granted.

With over 175 exhibitors at The Fire Safety Event visitors will have access to the industry’s leading brands plus 45+ hours of free-to-attend CPD content incorporating the Fire Safety Leaders Summit.  With a congregation of the industry’s foremost experts, visitors will be able to gain direct insight on best practice, regulatory updates and topical areas impacting the fire safety sector.

NSI CEO Richard Fogelman commented “We are thrilled to be appointed an Event Partner at The Fire Safety Event, which has fast become the UK’s premier event for fire safety professionals.  The response we received last year as an exhibitor was fantastic and only strengthened our resolve to further support this event which offers visitors many reasons to attend and benefits from being co-located with other complementary events including The Security Event, where NSI is also an Event Partner. Our team looks forward to meeting visitors in both locations to offer guidance to organisations of all sizes interested in third party certification.”
