JELD-WEN’S SHEFFIELD TRANSPORT OFFICE RECEIVES FORS SILVER ACCREDITATION
The transport office at JELD-WEN’s Sheffield site has been recognised for its commitment to achieving excellence in its fleet operations, receiving Silver accreditation from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
Designed to improve standards across the road transport industry, FORS is a voluntary accreditation programme that assesses and recognises fleet operators who are committed to managing road risk, reducing environmental impact and improving operational efficiency.
By setting benchmarks and rewarding operational excellence, FORS works to promote better standards and working practices across the industry.
To achieve a Bronze accreditation, operators must demonstrate good practice and compliance with the requirements laid out by the FORS Standard, including a dedication to driver and vehicle safety, and effective monitoring of fuel and tyre usage.
Silver accreditation requires an additional focus on physical vehicle safety, and this award confirms that JELD-WEN’s transport office fleet is compliant with the CLOCS Standard for Construction Logistics and with TfL’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR).
JELD-WEN’s transport office team has worked incredibly hard since 2021 to achieve Bronze, and more recently Silver status, in partnership with its dedicated haulier, Bothams, which it has worked with for over 50 years.
For customers, it means they are receiving a fully compliant, environmentally responsible and high standard of transportation of doorsets from JELD-WEN Sheffield, as the fleet adheres to best practices.
LEE CLARKE, TRANSPORT MANAGER SAID:
“I am extremely proud of the team in Sheffield, who have pulled together and worked hard with our haulier to accomplish this status. Achieving accreditation takes dedication, with an investment in training and auditing, which the team have strived throughout 2023 to do. This recognition aligns with our values of ‘improving every day’, which we can pass on to the benefit of our customers”
