The Fire Safety (England) Regulations, along with the Building Safety Act and its countless other secondary legislation sets a much higher standard for HRBs. But what does this mean for lower-rise and apparently lower-risk residential buildings? We look at the general direction of travel and how new guidance and the BS9792 draft gives us an insight into the new 'suitable and sufficient'. A primary focus for everyone managing residential buildings will be transparency of information and engaging residents in elements fire safety and evacuation.
