Course Content

Level 4 Diploma: Building Regulations (9 days classroom plus self study)

• The Building Act and Building Regulatons
• Statutory consultation procedure
• Means of warning and escape
• Provision for disabled persons
• Fire spread:  linings and structure
• External fire spread
• Building boundary and separation calculations
• Access and facilities for the fire service
• Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
• Fire safety on construction sites

Optional Units:

You must achieve a minimum of 7 credits, so this is something to consider when choosing your optional units. You can choose from the following additional units:

• Review fire safety matters relating to premises under
  construction, demolition and alteration.
• Work in partnership to minimise risks to the community.
• Serve statutory enforceable documents for the purpose
  of fire safety regulation.
• Draft statutory enforceable documents for the purpose
  of fire safety regulation.
• Prepare and present evidence in court and other
  formal proceedings in relation to fire safety matters.
• Support the management of risk at incidents.
