Heat from fire causes a catalytic reaction within the smoke and flame retardant finish to emit an instant surface flame and smoke suppressant non-toxic vapour. Heat from fire then causes catalytic compound in Astro ITC Paint Insulating Basecoat to react, making a “blowing agent” generate an internal foaming action contained within Astro ITC Paint by a “char former”as it makes the char former expand. The char former creates a dense insulating layer. The insulating layer is hardened by hardening agents and given extra firmness by fire resistant fibres for lasting protection after expansion.

Fire Test Standards

BS EN Class B s1 d0, officially compliant to old Class O, with full smoke control s1 and zero flaming droplets d0. Astro ITC Paint system gives permanent, effective fire protection.

For certification and compliance with regulations the manufacturer will supply a Certificate of Supply on request.

Durability & Microbial Resistance

High concentration of pure acrylic resin hardenend and smoothed with polyurethane avoid microbial safe havens created by all the cheap powders in even the most expensive very matt emulsions, making Astro ITC Paint suitable for areas subject to regular cleaning regimes. Astro ITC Paint’s metal-based biocides do not leach out with humidity or during cleaning to provide permanent virus and bacteria protection.
